Director Admin and Human resources of the agency Yakubu Alhassan who made the commendation while recieving a team from ACOMIN said the agency will continue support such NGOs to enable the society rid out the menace.
According to him role of NGOs in enhancing activities of the agency cannot be quantified adding the initiative of the ACOMIN in creating awareness on Malaria prevention and Commodities is a step in right direction.
He pledged to extend the message of the ACOMIN to the management of the agency for more support to enable them carry out their activities effectively.
Earlier, A focal Person of the ACOMIN, Mrs Rhoda Hassan Chiwar said that they were at the agency to seek for collaboration in creating awareness on Malaria prevention and Commodities in the state.
She said the organization has been sensitizing Community on the need to protect themselves from malaria as well as use of malaria Commodities.
Ms Chiwar said Government alone cannot do it hence the need for Communities to also contribute in the fight against the disease. ]]>
The maigodiya center for youth development budget alert clusters has held a private sector engagement meeting with thirteen Private sectors in Adamawa with a call on them to leverage their expertise, resources and innovation to enhance the health sector.
The private sector engagement which took place at Duragi hotel was organized by health budget alert clusters led by maigodiya center for youth development with support from strengthening civil advocacy and local engagement SCALE.
Giving the overview of the partnership of the promotion of maternal and child health project,Aminu Usman programme manager of maigodiya center for youth development said the budget alert clusters comprises of nine civil societies and professional bodies in Adamawa and taraba states.
He explained that the major goals of the budget alert clusters is to contribute to the reduction of maternal and child mortality in both states.
Aminu Usman enumerated four main objectives of the project to include increase budget allocation to the health sector to at least fifteen percent of the total state budget,there should be eighty percent budget performance.
Others are, institutionalisation of death surveillance and response, institutionalisation of essential life saving commodities in all health facility in both state.
The programme manager added that the essence of the private sector engagement is for them to support and contribute back to the society they are operating particularly in the health sector.
Earlier in his welcome address the Chairman of Nigeria union of Journalist State chapter, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan appreciate maigodiya center for youth development for their initiative and partnership with the union in area of health care.
He reiterates continues commitment of Nigeria union of Journalists in advocating and engaging with various stakeholders for the increase in budget allocation in the health sector in the state.
After extensive deliberation a communique was drafted by the private sector and civil societies organizations where they all resolved to partner and carry out series of projects to include carrying out medical outreach to sensitive community of Yola north local Government.
Others are advocacy on the need for pregnant mother’s to attend antenatal care at all times,as well as advocate full implementation of free medical care for infants inline with the directives of Adamawa State Governor among others.
Highlights of the event was presentations by the vice president North East of Nigeria union of Journalist Mr Zare Baba,Mr Tuwanga Peter from jana foundation,Fatima Belel from FABEL foundation and Hauwa Kumshe where they reaffirmed support towards achieving the set objectives of the health budget alert clusters.

The Executive Director Global Health and Social Awareness Forum Martins Madanga has says the organization is to embark on sensitization to members of the public on dangers of Noma Disease across nine local government areas in Adamawa state.
The Director who was represented by the programme Officer of the organisation Chahandi Lumbonyi revealed this when he paid an advocacy visit to the Acting General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC, Alhaji Abdul-Nasir Ali at the broadcasting house Friday.
The Executive Director said the campaign will begin from August this year to September across the local governments.
Madanga explained that the symptoms of Noma Disease include merging of the mouth rapidly spread into other parts of the mouth.
He noted that the Noma disease is severe which affects mostly children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Executive Director called on Management of ABC Yola to support the organization in educating the public on the Noma disease.
Responding, Acting General Manager of ABC Yola, Alhaji Abdul-Nasir Ali expressed delight with the visit, said the campaign will go a long way in educating the citizens.
The acting general manager promised to support the organization in carrying out the campaign sensitization.

The Adamawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency will embark on campaign sensitize the public on the upcoming vaccine against Human Parpiloma Virus.
The State Health Educator of the agency, Mrs Lydia Adamu disclosed this when she led a delegation on courtesy visit on the Acting General Manager of ABC Yola, Alhaji Abdulnasir Ali.
She explained that cancer virus to women is caused by Human Parpiloma Virus, stated that the campaign will be carried out between twenty-fifth to twenty-ninth of next month across the twenty-one local governments.
She added that the vaccine which is free of charge, targets girls from nine years to fourteen years to prevent them from contracting the disease.
Mrs Adamu said the vaccine will be administered at health facilities, schools and some designated centres across the state.
The state Health Educator called on parents and care givers to avail their daughters for the vaccination and seek support from ABC Yola for the success of the campaign.
She said the role of media organizations cannot be over emphasized, and saluted the management of ABC Yola for cordial relationship with the agency and hope the tempo will be sustained.
Responding, Acting General Manager of ABC, Alhaji Abdul-Nasir Ali said the Radio station have a cordial working relationship with the agency for a long time on educating members of the public on various health issues.
The Acting General Manager promised the readiness of the organization to support the agency in carrying out the exercise.

A health expert, with the World Health organisation WHO, Doctor Ahemen Terseer has charged Journalists to enlighten members of the public on the importance of personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness as basics for healthy living.
He stated this at a three-day workshop organized for media personality by the Adamawa state ministry of health in collaboration with World Health Organization on health and behavioural change reporting, taking place in Yola.
Doctor Terseer explained that diseases such as Lassa fever is caused by rat droplets and feaces which eventually come into contact with the people through drinking unclean water or food.
According to the health expert, the situation consequently leads to the outbreak of other dangerous diseases, hence the need for people to take issue of personal hygiene seriously.
He stressed the need to be proactive to the propensity of epidemic outbreak in a society, rather than reactive, by which time damage may have been done.
On the particular type of rat that causes Lassa fever, Doctor Terseer advised the public to desist from consuming such rat, given the tendency of any rat coming into contact with the vector rat thereby causing harm.
The facilitator suggested early detection of a disease as one of the ways of preventing its spread.
Others include health seeking behaviour of the people, consciousness of the community to the presentation of the epidemic prone disease.
He also identified prompt notification of appropriate authorities and good laboratory stock with equipment for testing and personnel as a ways leading to stemming the tide of an epidemic.
Ahemen Terseer added that among other diseases ravaging the society due to a number of factors include cerebrospinal meningitis, cholera and monkey pox.
He emphatically stressed the need for personal hygiene and immunization to improve the healthy society.

]]>Succour has come to the Ngurore community in Yola South local government area, of Adamawa State with the commissioning of a fully equippe20-bedded capacity Hospital by Sen. Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani.
This comes barely less than a week when Sen. Binani presented over 70 vehicles to various faith-based organizations, trade unions, pressure groups, clubs, and individuals.
Performing the ceremony, Thursday, the gubernatorial candidate of All Progress Party APC in the state, Sen Aisha Dahitu Ahmed Binani said she built the Hospital through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
“We have decided to build this hospital in response to the request by the people of Ngurore in this case and other benefitting communities as well that there is a need for the hospitals at the locations cited. Therefore, I firmly believe that this community will take full ownership of this facility and ensure it serves our people very well.
Sen. Binani explained that recently, she provided the Ngurore community with transformers to address the electricity problem following months of blackouts experienced by the inhabitants.
“From the day I assumed office in 2019, we have achieved a lot with your kind support. In the case of Ngurore, I remember when I got a distress call from your leaders informing me that Ngurore has been in total blackout for months and all efforts to have it addressed proved futile. With your kind prayers, we immediately provided this community with transformers thereby addressing the problem for good.
“Similarly, you can also bear me witness that we have supplied all our primary schools with teaching aids: ranging from textbooks, exercise books, chairs and desks, and other teaching facilities. I have renovated schools and built new ones with Gongosi Dingali as an example.
“We have provided you with free fertilizer for farming, installed solar lights for curb insecurity, drilled boreholes, empowered hundreds, and many more interventions aimed at uplifting the living standard of our people.
“I urge and call on you to give us another opportunity and I assure you, we shall by the special grace of Allah continue to do more for you in all these areas, to ensure you enjoy the dividends of democracy,” she said.
]]>Adamawa state Ministry of Health and the National Malaria Elimination Programme, Federal Ministry of health in collaboration with partners planned to distribute over three point five million insecticides treated Nets that have been procured from Global fund.
Chief Scientific officer of National Malaria Elimination Programme, Federal Ministry of Health Mr Omo- Eboh Mamudu disclosed this during an advocacy visit to Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola.
He announced that the exercise will take place from seventh May to twenty eight June, twenty-twenty three to households across the state.
Mr Mamudu explained that in adherence to national guidelines and to reduce spread of viral diseases, the nets will be distributed by trained personnel using single-phase door to door approach where households will be mobilize and issued with nets simultaneously.
The chief scientific officer solicited for support of ABC Yola in areas of partnership, free phone in programmes and airing of jingles among others.
Responding, the General Manager ABC Yola, Barrister Misali represented by the Director Programmes Mr Micheal Musa assured the of the Health of stations support at all times.
He described the visit as timely saying ABC Yola is always open to donor agencies with public interest.
]]>A non-governmental organization, Al-masakin Charity Foundation has donated food items and settled medical bills of some patients at Ganye General Hospital.
The National Chairman of the Foundation Mr. Idris Babalola represented by the State Coordinator of the Organization Samaila Sansani who went round the wards in the Hospital to present the items to patients, said Al-masakin is a non-profit and non-governmental organization established with the aim of assisting less privilege within in the society.
The Secretary of the Hospital Gibson Wariseu who received the delegation thanked the Members of the Organization for assisting the needy observing that the gesture will go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the beneficiaries.
Also in their remarks the office in charge of pediatric and that of the medical ward of the hospital appreciated the effort of the organization and called wealthy individual in the society to imbibe such spirit.
Some of the beneficiaries William Jekamenso and Babangida Yusha’u expressed their gratitude also prayed to Allah to reward member of the organization.

A Non-Governmental Organization, Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, Adamawa State, ACOMIN has held a Media Briefing on the Global fund Malaria community-led monitoring project.
The meeting with the title Promoting and Celebrating Community Contributions to Health in the light of the recently commemorated world Malaria Day and beyond”, is aimed at updating journalists on the successes and challenges of under project.
Project officer of the ACOMIN, Mrs Lauretta Charles while presenting the Briefing said the organization has been reengaged by Catholic Relief Services under the ongoing Global fund Malaria grant to continue implementing the civil society component which was successfully executed from twenty nineteen to twenty-twenty.
According to her, the grant is being implemented in eight local governments in each in thirteen states.
Mrs Charles explained that the components deployed to fight Malaria in Nigeria include provision of free long-lasting insecticide- treated bed nets, deployment of Volunteers to carry out interpersonal communication at the grassroots levels, and provision of free Malaria test kits and medicines among others.
The project officer expressed concern that despite efforts to control Malaria Nigeria still has a long way to go to achieve full control of the disease due to some challenges being encountered in the interventions projects.
Mrs Charles called for deployment of more female health workers in health facilities in Adamawa.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Chairman of ACOMIN Mr Martins Madanga said the organization has been operating in Adamawa for the past four years and this has yielded positive results in the fight against Malaria.
He appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing an enabling environment for the organization which resulted to the success recorded as far.
The chairman appealed to media to the mass improve on the working relationship with organization and advocated for specific budget line as well as increased funding for Malaria Control at state and local government levels.
