Adamawa State Government To Support Farmers With Farm Inputs

Adamawa state government will support farmers with farm inputs and fertilizer at a subsidize rate in the state during this year’s farming season to boost food production.
The commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Finchiwa Jatau disclosed this in an interview with ABC Reporter said the inputs will be re-sale to farmers include improved seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to enable farmer produce in large quantity so as to crash the prices of foodstuff in the market.
Professor Finchiwa said Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved over two billion naira for the purchased of inputs for sale to farmers in the state, adding that procurement of the inputs are in the process.
The commissioner who expressed dismay over diversion of inputs at local government level, said henceforth the ministry will deliver the inputs directly to Divisional Agric Officers who will in turn handover to stakeholders from each ward for collection.
He called on farmers to support people’s-oriented programme of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to take advantage to improve their income.
