ABC Yola To Receive Broadcast Equipment

The state government is to provide brand new studios, transmitters, Solar facilities and other necessary equipment to Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola.
The Acting General Manager of the station, Alhaji Abdulnasir Ali who disclosed this while declaring open two weeks in-house workshop organized for programme producers and presenters of ABC Yola, explained that the gesture is due to priority given ABC Yola by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
He explained that the move is to enable ABC to not only regain her lost glory but also reclaim her position as the premier broadcast station in the state, assured the staff that within the available resources, training and re-training of staff will be a continuous one for better performance.
The Acting General Manager stated that esteem listeners, clients and entire good people of Adamawa state have high expectation from the management and staff of the station when the new AM and FM facilities are operational, hence the need to refresh the minds of staff to justify the huge financial commitment to ABC Yola by government.
Alhaji Ali stated that retirement of great number of technical staff, deaths and transfer of service have depleted the rank of engineers, announcers, producers, editors, reporters, presenters and others.
He further said lack of adequate funds have prevented management from sending out technical staff to institutions like the Broadcast Academy in Lagos as was the case in the past for training and updating.
The Acting General Manager charged those to be trained to use the rare opportunity to learn the rudiments of programming from experienced veterans who have seen it all in the area of broadcasting for the training achieve its goals.
He urged the trainees to be committed so as to achieved the goals of the training.
Earlier, the Director Programme of the station, Mohammed Abubakar Gurin said the workshop was packaged to enhance the capacity of staff and for them to be in tune with digital age.
He said similar workshop is underway for other staff in various departments of the radio station.
In his remark, one of the resource persons, Micheal Midala said the workshop will cover all aspects of production and presentations.
