The newly inaugurated ward executives of the Muslim Council, Yola South local government branch have been reminded on need to operate within provisions of the council constitution.

The chairman of the council, Engineer Mohammad Bashir Buba disclosed this Sunday while inaugurating ward EXCOs across the local government area, stressing that the local government headquarters of the council will be monitoring their activities.

Engineer Buba who holds the traditional title of Wakili Makaranta Yola charged them to build bridges among the diverse people within their various ward by ensuring justice to all.

The chairman urged them to fear Allah and do justice in all their endeavours as elected leaders and bring on board all Islamic organizations in their ward.

Engineer Buba also stated that they should bring understanding within Muslims and non-Muslims as well as consult and work with all stakeholders in the ward.

He disclosed that the council will soon commence training of youths in various skills of their choice as part of efforts to make them self-reliant and contribute to the socio-economic growth of the state.

The chairman said the training will be done under the newly constituted committee on Muslim Council Apprenticeship Scheme, MCAS.

Engineer Bashir said already sixty volunteer trainers have indicated their willingness to partner with the council.

The chairman enumerated some achievements recorded by the council at the local government within four months of its inauguration to include, familiarization visit to all the wards and key stakeholders as well as setting up committees among which are Sulhu, Da’awah and Women wing.

In their separate remarks, the ward chairmen pledged to discharge their duties in accordance with the provisions of the council’s constitution and solicit support as well as cooperation from Muslim Ummah to enable them succeed.
